Savannah coming out for the team and sticking with it has been a great accomplishment, and that should not be taken lightly. She asks questions, communicates well, has speed, and is also a fantastic teammate. Those are all important qualities, and they give her a really strong foundation to build on.
Savannah has already done some of the hard parts, and many of her strengths come naturally. Now the focus for the rest of the season is continuing to learn the game while also practicing and developing her individual skills. As her understanding of basketball grows, her soft skills and intangibles will continue to enhance her athleticism, and her athleticism will help bring those qualities to life on the court.
Watching film, asking questions with the help of her supportive parents, and continuing to come to extra workouts will all help deepen her understanding of the game. She is still learning, and that is completely okay. The biggest thing now is continuing to grow and finish strong. It is not only about how you start, but how you finish.
Savannah has a lot of positive traits already, and if she keeps learning and working, she can make meaningful progress over the rest of the season.
