April’s strengths are her voice and her willingness to work. She is by far the most vocal player on the team, and that is a major strength. As she gains more experience, her voice will become even more valuable in helping connect the team through insight, direction, and motivation. Communication does so much for a team, and April already brings that to the group in a big way.
She also consistently comes to the optional workouts, which is important because our practice time and space are limited. That extra work gives her more opportunities to improve and shows that she is willing to invest in getting better. Her shooting form is coming along, and her willingness to grow has been clear. Her ball-handling has improved as well, especially with the flat-back dribble and the scissor move.
Watching film will be another great way for April to continue improving. Going to the Mitty game hopefully opened her eyes to another way to learn and grow by observing strong players and team habits. With the support of her family and her continued commitment to improving, April has the tools to keep developing and reach her potential in basketball.
