Annelise has been one of our main on-ball defenders, and the pressure she puts on the other team’s guards has been a real plus for us. Her ability to bring energy and intensity on the defensive end has helped our team in a big way.
Her focus in practice has been improving, and that will continue to help her better understand both her role and the roles of her teammates. I also really like that she is beginning to interact more with other teammates on the court. That growth in connection and communication is important and will only make her more comfortable and effective within the team.
Her shooting form is still a work in progress, and I have asked one of her teammates to help her with it before adding too many more suggestions. That way, she can keep building with consistency and confidence. Her speed is another quality that can really help her as a basketball player, especially if she keeps working to develop it.
I know Annelise is also interested in volleyball, and the good thing is that the two sports complement each other well. One of the exciting things about basketball is that players can improve quickly with consistent effort, and you do not necessarily need a lot to make real progress. Annelise has some very strong tools already, and with continued focus and work, she can keep growing into an even bigger contributor for our team.
